Port Coquitlam is a largely suburban community part of the Lower Mainland’s Tri-Cities, east of Vancouver. Historically an agricultural region, the flat plain in Port Coquitlam was selected by Canadian Pacific Railway for rail yards at the end of its transcontinental railway. Major transportation to and through PoCo is via Loughead Highway, Mary Hill Bypass and Shaughnessy Street.
